
El Paso Team Formally Introduced

EL PASO, TX. : The ownership group of El Paso's newest professional sports franchise was formally introduced on Thursday, October 9th, 2008 from Dominic's Italian Restaurant. Allegiance Pro Sports is the parent company that will own the El Paso organization with Brandon Smith (35) leading as President. Allegiance Pro Sports is based in Odessa, Texas. Smith was born and raised in Odessa and is a 1991 product of Odessa High School. He has been working in the family business since he graduated from high school and he is a member of Crossroads Fellowship in Odessa.
"We have been looking forward to this very special day. We hope to build a long-lasting relationship with the El Paso community. We want to create a form of large success and entertainment for all the people of El Paso and beyond. El Paso is a place that has a large football fan base and we are proud to have indoor football return to such a great community." stated Smith.
Joining Brandon will be his sister Rebecca Greenfield who will contribute in helping the team through many aspects of the organization. Further announcements were made regarding future plans and priorities for the El Paso organization. These plans include; "To honor God in all we do", contributing to the community, serving ticket holders and corporate sponsors, and to grow profitably. Among these plans discussed were the team's tentative date of unveiling the new head coach, along with the announcements of ticket prices and season tickets on sale.
More news was discussed about the planning of the franchise's name unveiling on the tentative date of Thursday, October 23rd, 2008. The El Paso franchise announced that they will hold a "Name The Team Contest" in which fans will have the opportunity to vote on what they think the name of the new El Paso team should be. The name that receives the most votes will be revealed on October 23rd, along with the team logo that will be unveiled on the tentative date of Thursday, October 30th, 2008.
The Indoor Football League season will consist of 14 (all-Saturday) games, seven of which will be hosted at the El Paso County Coliseum.
