Generals Re-Sign Wallace, Smith & Dequire For 2010 Season

EL PASO, TX. : The El Paso Generals announced on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 that the organization has re-signed DB A.J. Wallace, OL/DL Kyle Smith and RB Anthony Dequire for the 2010 season. Additionally, the Generals announced that the organization has signed newcomers WR Eric Marshall and DB Kendale Rayford. The following is further information on today's announced players signed to the El Paso Generals 2010 training camp roster.

DB A.J. Wallace (5'11", 205 lbs.) Southern Illinois University - Wallace returns for his second season with the El Paso Generals after an impressive first season at defensive back. Wallace was a key component on not only the defensive side of the ball but also on special teams. Wallace finished fourth last season on the team in total tackles (46.5) including 1.5 tackles-for-loss, two interceptions, three pass break-ups and one recorded safety. In 2005 while playing at Southern Illinois, Wallace played in all 13 games that season and started twice versus Union and Missouri State. Wallace returned a blocked punt for a touchdown against SEMO and returned an interception for a touchdown against Union. Wallace recorded two interceptions in his first two games at Southern Illinois. Prior to Southern Illinois, Wallace was named to the Second Team All-Jayhawk Conference while at Hutchinson Community College in 2004. Wallace finished third on the team with 98 total tackles with one interception, one forced fumble and three tackles-for-loss in '04. Wallace was an Honorable Mention All-State and All-Conference selection as a senior at Leavenworth High School in 2002.

OL/DL Kyle Smith (6'4", 300 lbs.) New Mexico State University - Kyle Smith rejoins the Generals for a second season after seeing action on both the offensive and defensive line during the 2009 season. Smith will compete for a starting spot on both lines for the Generals in 2010. Smith played collegiately at New Mexico State University where he started on the offensive line for 21 games. Smith graduated in 2006 and prior to his time with the Aggies program, Smith helped lead Guthrie High School to their first State Championship. Smith was a top 20 prospect coming out of Guthrie High School in the state of Oklahoma.

RB Anthony Dequire (6'0", 210 lbs.) Cisco Junior College - Anthony Dequire returns for his second season with the El Paso Generals. Dequire will compete for the starting tailback position for the Generals in 2010. Dequire spent two seasons at Cisco Junior College and prior to his time with Cisco Junior College, Dequire was a stand-out running back at El Paso Parkland High School. Dequire set a state record with a 99-yard touchdown run while at Parkland and was the number five ranked running back in the state following his time at Parkland. Dequire previously spent the 2004 season with the El Paso Rumble, formerly of the Intense Football League.

DB Kendale Rayford (5'9", 173 lbs.) Louisiana College - Kendale Rayford is an outstanding defensive back who has great hands and good open-field tackling abilities. Rayford was named to the Division-III All-American Team following his senior season (2008) at Louisiana College. That season Rayford recorded five interceptions and defended 19 total passes. Rayford additionally was named to the First Team All-South Region in 2008 after finishing his career as Louisiana College's all-time leader in interceptions (13). Rayford led the nation in passes defended per game (2.4) in 2008 and he additionally finished with 26 total tackles on the season.

WR Eric Marshall (6'3", 205 lbs.) Delta State University - Standing at 6'3", 205 lbs., Marshall will bring size to an already impressive receiving core for the Generals in 2010. Marshall recorded 17 career touchdown receptions while at Delta State and he held previous workouts at the NFL Regional Combine and with the Indianapolis Colts. Marshall will bring physicality and aggressiveness to the Generals wide out department in 2010.
