PORTLAND, ME – Eastern League President Joseph McEacharn has announced his selections for the Eastern League Chevrolet Pitcher and Player of the Week for the week ending May 4, 2003:

Altoona Curve outfielder Josh Bonifay has been named the Eastern League's Chevrolet Player of the Week for the week ending May 4th. Bonifay, a native of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, hit .500 (12-for-24) with two doubles, four home runs, 12 runs batted in and five runs scored in six games last week. The 24-year old homered in four consecutive games from April 30th-May 3rd, falling one game shy of the club record for consecutive games with a home run, which was set by former Eastern League MVP Adam Hyzdu in 1999. The 6'0", 180 lb. slugger was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 24th round of the June 1999 draft.

Seung Song, a right-handed pitcher for the Harrisburg Senators, is the Eastern League's Chevrolet Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 4th. The Pusan, South Korea native went 2-0 with nine strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA in two starts against the Erie SeaWolves last week. In his first start of the week the 22-year old struck out four batters and walked two while tossing the first no-hitter Senators franchise history. In his second start of the week the 6'1", 190 lb. hurler struck out five batters and scattered two hits in six shutout innings to improve his record to 3-0 on the season. Song was acquired by the Montreal Expos in a trade with the Boston Red Sox on July 30, 2002. Song's Pitching Line for the week ending May 4, 2003:
