Eight Wave Games Live On Time Warner Sports In 2007-08

MILWAUKEE, WI (Oct. 16, 2007) -- Eight Milwaukee Wave games will be broadcast live this season on Time Warner Sports Channel 32, part of a season-long package of Major Indoor Soccer League contests on Wisconsin's only 24-hour sports channel. In addition, the Nov. 3 home opener against New Jersey, which kicks off at 5 p.m., can be seen on Time Warner Sports the same day beginning at 9 p.m. This is the second season that Wave contests will be shown on Time Warner Sports, and "The Keith Tozer Show," featuring the Wave's head coach, is a staple of the network. But it's the first time live, regular-season Wave games will be broadcast on the station. "Time Warner Sports has been a Wave supporter from its first days on the air," said Mike Lafferty, chief operating officer of the Milwaukee Wave. "We are thrilled to join with them in providing local, live professional sports programming that is perfectly suited to television, thanks to indoor soccer's high-speed, end-to-end action." "Time Warner Cable is proud and honored to bring Milwaukee Wave action to soccer fans and our customers on Time Warner Sports Channel 32," said Bev Greenberg, Vice President Public Affairs for Time Warner Cable Wisconsin. "Since its launch in January of this year, Time Warner Sports has been home to Milwaukee Wave matchups and we are thrilled to bring it to the next level this season with live soccer action," added Greenberg. Games slated for broadcast are: Nov. 3, vs. New Jersey, 9 p.m. (same-day tape) Dec. 1, vs. La Raza de Monterrey, 6 p.m. (joined in progress) Dec. 31, vs. Detroit Ignition, 1 p.m. Jan. 13, at California Cougars, 8:15 p.m. Jan. 18, at Detroit Ignition, 6:35 p.m. Jan. 27, vs. Chicago Storm, 2 p.m. March 2, vs. California Cougars, 2 p.m. April 4, at Detroit Ignition, 6:35 p.m. April 5, vs. La Raza de Monterrey, 6 p.m. Other home Wave games will be seen at 7 p.m. Tuesdays following the weekend they are played, following the airing of "The Keith Tozer Show" at 6:30 p.m. Tom Wynn, "The Voice of the Wave," will be the broadcaster for all games. The Wave are four-time world champions (1998, 2000, 2001, 2005) and are the longest-running soccer franchise in North America in continuous operation, founded in 1984.
