
Effinger stops 49 shots as Eagles top Waterloo

Charlie Effinger (Belleville, IL) stopped 49 shots, while Waterloo defenseman JP Testwuide knocked the puck into his own net to hand the Eagles a 2-1 win before 1,278 at the Summit Center on Friday night.
The Eagles trailed 1-0 in the 1st period following a power play goal by Garrett Regan. Colin Vock's power play goal tied the game in the second before the go-ahead goal was tallied at the 36-second mark of the 3rd period. The goal was credited to Trevor Morrison, who last touched the puck for the Eagles.
Heartland returns to the ice on Saturday night to face Tri-City at 7:05. It's also Parent's Night, as the Eagles parents will be honored with an on-ice ceremony.
