Edmonton Capitals Split Doubleheader In St. George

St. George, UT - The Edmonton Capitals managed a split Saturday in St. George. The RoadRunners took the first game by a score of 9 - 5 but the Caps bounced back to win the night cap 10 - 6.
Edmonton jumped out to a five nothing lead in game two and didn't look back. Cliff Brumbaugh had a terrific day offensively going 2 for 4 in game one with a solo home run. Later on he racked up four RBI in game two finishing 3 for 4 at the plate including his ninth home run of the season. That ranks him second in the league for long balls.
Other notable performances for the Caps include pitcher Mike Hrynio who got the start in game two. He earned the win by pitching five innings and striking out six along the way and now has four wins this year to keep him among the league leaders in that category.
Edmonton's record is now 17 - 15 which puts them 6.5 games behind the division leading Chico Outlaws. The team will have a couple of days off before starting a series of games against the Calgary Vipers. They'll be in Calgary Tuesday and Wednesday before returning home for a lengthy home stand starting Canada Day against the Vipers.
