
Edmondson wins it for New Hampshire

AUGUSTA, N.J. - Jerod Edmondson's bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth plated three runs and completed a New Hampshire comeback as the American Defenders topped the Sussex Skyhawks 5-3 on Saturday evening at Skylands Park.
Trailing 3-2 entering the ninth, New Hampshire loaded the bases and, with two outs and a 1-2 count, Edmondson lined a fastball to right center to clear the bases.
Nick Asselin gave up three runs over eight innings to garner the win for New Hampshire. Cooper Brannan pitched a perfect ninth to earn the save. Sandy Nin went 1 2/3 innings, giving up the three runs in the ninth, to take the loss.
Sussex scored two runs in the first on a groundout by John Urick and an RBI-single by Chris Brown. The Skyhawks added another in the second on a Mark Pappas RBI-double to make it a 3-1 game.
Angel Molina was 3-for-5 and Chris Kelly had two doubles for New Hampshire. Pappas finished 2-for-3 with two doubles in the losing effort for Sussex.
Sussex and New Hampshire return to Skylands Park on Sunday for the final game of the three game series. Game time is set for 2:05 p.m.
