
Edinburg tops Aviators to close series

EDINBURG, Texas â The Aviators lost the final game of the two-game series with Edinburg 5-3 on Thursday night.
The Aviators scored the first two runs of the game. Stephen Morales scored a run in the second inning on Marco Garza's throwing error. The Aviators took a 2-0 lead on Carlos Figueroa's RBI single in the third.
Edinburg struck with a four-run fourth inning. Eric Gonzalez drove in two runs on a single. Matt Spencer then hit a RBI double giving Edinburg a 4-2 lead. Gonzalez then scored on Eddie Lara's sacrifice fly making the score 5-2.
The Aviators added a run on Jack Joffrion's RBI single in the seventh inning.
Frank James (2-3) started the game and picked up the win for Edinburg. Steve Wilkerson pitched the ninth inning to pick up his tenth save of the season. Elliott Shaw (1-3) took the loss for the Aviators.
Aviators are home again on Friday to begin a three-game series against Fort Worth at 7:05. Friday will be baseball cap giveaway night.
