BLOOMINGTON - The Bloomington Edge won their second straight Champions Professional Indoor Football League contest by knocking off the Salina Bombers 58-50 on Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

The Bombers ground out the first score on a 12-play, 45-yard drive on their first possession, capped by a seven-yard scoring pass to Attrail Snipes from Dane Simoneau for the only first quarter scoring.

The Edge tied the game just 1:16 into the second quarter with a one-yard carry by Andre Raymond to end their own long drive of nine plays and 40 yards. The Bombers quickly struck back on a 41-yard touchdown pass to Snipes, but the Edge again countered with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Marcus Lewis from Charles Dowdell to tie the game at 14-14 with 9:49 left in the period. The Edge added to their total with 19 seconds left when LaVaughn Macon caught a 20-yard pass for a score while crashing into the back wall, but the Bombers ran the ensuing kickoff back with a 48-yard return by Ira Autrey to cut the Edge lead to 30-23 at halftime.

A Dowdell-to-Lewis connection in the first minute of the second half increased the Edge advantage to 37-23, although the Bombers answered with 6:27 left in the third quarter on a two-yard scoring strike to Quentin Benning. The Edge concluded the third period scoring with a 13-yard touchdown reception by De'Andre Eagle for 44-30 lead heading into the final stanza.

The Bombers found the end zone twice more, a 13-yard pass to Rickey Roberts with 3:42 left and a 22-yard strike to Snipes with 1:20 remaining, but the Edge recovered the ensuing onside kick and kneeled out the clock.
