The Edge got the result they wanted in their rematch with the Chicago Slaughter last Saturday. In their opening game at Chicago the Edge lost. But last weekend the Edge beat Chicago 55-44. There was a lot of scoring in the opening quarter and it ended 24-20 Edge. Bloomington slowed Chicago in the 2nd and 3rd quarter and seemed to have complete control of the game. Burk led rushing yards with 18 but running back Andre Raymond had 7 yards as well. John Cooper had 69 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown.
James Temple had a great game and was named IFL Defensive Player of the Week. Temple grabbed an IFL season-high three interceptions and recorded 15 total tackles (6 unassisted, 9 assisted) and one pass break-up. Temple currently leads the IFL with four interceptions. One of the interceptions saved a touchdown in his own end zone as the clock ran out at halftime. Another set up scoring drive for the Edge.
Lehigh Valley fell 32-13 to the Cedar Rapids Titans last Saturday on the road. The opening quarter was only a one score quarter for both teams. Lehigh Valley had a field goal and the Titans has a touchdown with a missed extra point. The 2nd quarter was the highest scoring quarter of the game.
