Bloomington Edge News Release

Bloomington, IL, 5/16/12 - The Bloomington Edge, presented by Heller Stores, will play at the Cedar Rapids Titans this Friday at 7 pm. This is the first meeting of two between the two teams.

They will play again in Bloomington on June 8. The Edge are 7-3 and are in third place in the United Conference. The Titans are in seventh place in the United Conference with a record of 3-7.

The Edge are looking for a fresh start against a new opponent after getting swept in back to back weeks by the Green Bay Blizzard. On April 28 the Edge fell 69-56 at green Bay. Then on May 5 the Edge lost at home by a score of 34-21. The Edge were not outmatched in the games by any means. The problem was that every time the Edge scored and seemed to get going, Green Bay would come right back and score. After a week of rest the Bloomington is ready to get things back on track.

The Titans have had a frustrating season so far. After winning their first and third games the Titans lost six games in a row. Also they have not played two home games in a row until this week. This game is their only back to back home stretch of the regular season. With some time left before the playoffs the Titans are looking to turn things around and jump back into the race.

The Edge are back home next week to take on the Chicago Slaughter on May 25 at 7:05 pm. It is the fourth game between the two teams. The Edge are 2-1 against the Slaughter this year. For more information on the Edge visit bloomingtonedge.com and the IFL at goifl.com.

All games can be heard on WJBC Online.
