Eddies Partner up for 'Goals That Give'

May 22, 2015 - North American Soccer League (NASL)
FC Edmonton News Release

EDMONTON, AB (May 22, 2015) - Every FC Edmonton goal has a little more meaning to it than just a statistic this season. Pasta Pantry and Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Alberta (RMHCNA) are partnering with the Eddies in the newly created the "Goals that Give" program - an initiative to provide meals to the Ronald McDonald House this season.

How does it work? After every FC Edmonton North American Soccer League (NASL) goal live on CityTV, Pasta Pantry will donate a meal to RMHCNA. With 11 goals scored by the Eddies so far this season, FC Edmonton, RMHCNA and Pasta Pantry will kick off this program on Friday, May 22 providing two meals to those at the house.

"It's a fantastic program combined with a fantastic relationship between FC Edmonton, Pasta Pantry and Ronald McDonald House," said FC Edmonton's head coach Colin Miller. "It's even more positive with the amount of goals we're scoring this season. Good food and good goals - the combination will surely benefit our partners and FC Edmonton."

The Ronald McDonald House is the only facility in Edmonton and surrounding areas that provides temporary and affordable accommodation for families of children being treated in an Edmonton-based medical facility. In the past, FC Edmonton has partnered with RMHCNA on several initiatives, including a Guinness World Record attempt in 2012 and more recently partnering to recruit volunteers for a Community-Driven Shuttle Bus initiative.

Pasta Pantry is an Italian Diner that has been in business in Sherwood Park since 1992, providing homemade pastas, sauces and desserts for both take-in and take-away. Pasta Pantry is the official supplier of team meals for FC Edmonton this season.

The Eddies will be able to add to their goal tally this Sunday against Atlanta Silverbacks at Clarke Field (2:00 p.m. MT KO) presented by HUB International - for all your insurance and surety needs. The game will be broadcast live in Edmonton on CityTV and World FM, as well as ESPN3 in the United States.
