Ebony Salmon Named to Lionesses Roster for November Friendlies
November 1, 2022 - National Women's Soccer League (NWSL)
Houston Dash News Release
Ebony Salmon, Houston's leading goal scorer during the regular season, will close out the 2022 competition calendar with the Lionesses during the upcoming FIFA International Window. England will take on Japan on November 11 and Norway on November 15 in a pair of friendlies to close out the year before next year's World Cup.
Salmon, who came on as a second half substitute during England's 0-0 draw against the Czech Republic, was named to the NWSL's Best XI second team for her breakout performance with the Dash. The 21-year-old striker scored nine goals in 12 regular season matches. Salmon was traded to the Dash in June and scored her first career NWSL hat trick on July 16 against the Chicago Red Stars. Salmon played a key role in helping the Dash reach its first playoff appearance in club history and earned the start against the Kansas City Current in the playoff match on Oct. 16.
Salmon rejoined the Lionesses for the September window following the 2022 Women's Euros. Salmon was available off the bench against the United States in their friendly at Wembley Stadium. Salmon made her senior debut in February 2021 and has two caps for England.
