Pulaski, VA - The Greeneville Astros (26-23) fell to the Pulaski Yankees (29-21) 10-6 on the road at Pulaski's Calfee Park. With the loss, the Astros fall into a tie with the Kingsport Mets for first place in the Appalachian League West Division.

The Yankees jumped to a six-run lead in the first inning behind three hits and four walks to begin the frame. Greeneville right-hander Devonte German took the loss after pitching the first two-thirds of the inning and allowing all six runs.

The Astros began a comeback effort with lone runs in the third and fourth frames. In the third, Daz Cameron dribbled a bunt single then advanced to second on a Yankee throwing error and then tagged up to take third base on fly out by Conner Goedert. Justin Garcia proceeded to line a single to center to score Cameron and make the score 6-1.

The Yankees answered with a pair of runs to extend their lead to 8-1 beginning with consecutive walks by Gosuke Kotah and Kane Sweeney. Jesus Aparicio knocked a single to left to score Kotah, and Sweeney followed by scoring on an Astros error.

In the fourth, the Greeneville run came with first-round draftee Kyle Tucker smashing his first home run of the season for Greeneville. Ford Stainback followed with a walk and Rodrigo Ayarza singled before the inning ended with the Yankees up 8-2.

Astros lefty Starlyng Sanchez tossed the second and third innings for a final line on the night of two and one-third innings pitched with two runs allowed on one hit and four strikeouts. Alejandro Solarte succeeded Sanchez with two scoreless innings on the mound, two hits allowed and one strikeout.

The Astros mounted a run in the top of the eighth off of Pulaski reliever Willie Gabay as Tucker propelled a one-out double to right then advanced to third on a wild pitch with Gabriel Bracamonte batting. Ayarza followed with a single to right to score Tucker before the inning expired.

The Yankees pushed their ninth and tenth run across in the bottom of the eighth beginning with a ground-rule double by Aparicio then another double, this time hit by Vidal, to score Aparicio. Hoy Jun Park added a single followed by Nathan Mikolas reaching on an Astros error allowing Vidal to score and put Pulaski up 10-3.

Edgardo Sandoval anchored the last three frames on the mound for the Astros allowing four hits and two runs while striking out four batters.

Greeneville's bats came alive in the rallying spirit in the top of the ninth spurred by Cameron leading off the inning reaching first on a Yankee error. Cameron then scored on Conner Goedert's team-leading 17th double of the season, giving him three straight games with a double. Randy Cesar added a one-out single to push Goedert in and make the score 10-5 in Pulaski's favor.

Tucker followed with his second double of the night and sixth of the season to score Cesar and the sixth and final Astros run. Tucker would eventually reach third on a wild pitch with Bracamonte batting then drawing a walk before the inning and game ended.

Tucker paced the Greeneville bats finishing the night three-for-five with a pair of doubles, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Ayarza went two-for-five with a RBI followed by Cameron, who was one-for-four with two runs scored. Bracamonte was one-for-two and drew three walks.

Goedert concluded the game one-for-four at the plate with a double, run scored and RBI. Garcia and Cesar both went one-for-five with RBI as Cesar scored a run.

The Astros continue their road series at Pulaski on Friday and Saturday night before returning to Pioneer Park for a three-game set with the Johnson City Cardinals starting on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 6 PM.
