Eagles Welcome Former Rival Stanfield
July 8, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Colorado Eagles News Release
The Colorado Eagles have brought their total number of players signed for the 2013-14 season to three with the addition of Parker Stanfield. Stanfield, a 6-foot-1-inch, 174-pound forward spent parts of two seasons with the Bakersfield Condors prior to signing with Colorado. He notched 19 goals and 24 assists in 80 games with the Condors. In addition, Stanfield posted two goals and an assist in eight games while playing for HK Poprad last season in Slovakia.
"Having matched-up against him, Parker is a player that will add not only skill up-front for us, but he will also bring a physical aspect that is so vital for any team," said president and general manager Chris Stewart.
Stanfield spent both the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons with the Condors and prior to that put up 130 points in 272 games at the major junior level with the Everett Silvertips and Prince George Cougars of the WHL.
"I'm so excited to be in Colorado," said Stanfield. "When I went to Europe at the end of last season I told the guys on my team that if I was going to play in the ECHL next season, the only way I would do it is if I played for Colorado. Playing at the Budweiser Events Center has always been amazing. The fans are incredible and I can't wait to get started."
