
Eagles Add Jorge Herrera

Charlotte, NC -- A friendly face for Eagles fans returns to the team as Colombian midfielder Jorge Herrera has been added to the roster following his US Soccer approval. Herrera, 32, is returning for his seventh season in Charlotte after playing the last several months with Atl̮̩tico Huila in the top division of soccer in Colombia.
In Herrera's seven seasons with the Eagles he has played in 102 matches and recorded 31 goals and 28 assists in that span. In 2011 Herrera was 2nd in all of USL PRO in assists with seven.
Herrera was a finalist for the 2008 USL2 MVP finishing behind teammate Dustin Swinehart. Herrera was First Team USL Second Division in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and First Team USL Pro in 2011.
Eagles General Manager Tom Engstrom said, "Jorge is real professional in everything he does. We are very happy to have him back. As his stats demonstrate he always gets his share of points. His experience and ability will be a great asset for this 2013 team"
Jorge is expected to be in the starting lineup tonight at 7 pm at the Queens Sports Complex as the Eagles take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds!
