Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC forward Sebas Ferreira was named to the MLSSoccer.com Team of the Week this afternoon.
Ferreira scored twice for the Dynamo in their 2-1 victory over Nashville SC on Sunday evening. The forward has now scored 12 goals for the Dynamo this season, the most for a Dynamo player in his first season at the Club.
The 24-year-old earned his first MLS Team of the Week honor in Week 6 when he scored a brace at PNC Stadium in Houston's 4-3 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on April 9. The Paraguayan international earned Team of the Week and was named the MLS Player of the Week in Week 13 after contributing to all three goals in Houston's 3-0 victory over the LA Galaxy on May 22.
The Dynamo will close the regular season at home against Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and the LA Galaxy on Oct. 9. Fans are invited to cheer for their favorite group at the Mariachi Battle at the Hold It Down Plaza during pregame. The winner of the battle will perform at halftime. Additionally, the first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a Héctor Herrera bobblehead.
