May 24, 2013 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Dayton Dutch Lions News Release
DAYTON, Ohio - The Dayton Dutch Lions Youth Academy has announced its tryout dates for the 2013-2014 youth teams. After one of the Youth Academy's most successful years and additional talented teams and partnerships created, the addition of the summer Super Y program, and the hosting of our own tournament, the Youth Academy is looking to expand even further. If you are looking to take your development to the next level, then you should attend the Dutch Lions tryout and become a part of the area's only "gateway to professional soccer".
"The Youth Academy is the building block for the club. The club has come a long way in terms of establishing themselves in this area and it has been proven that our methods and our coaching are very effective. We have more steps to climb as we continue to become a leader in the development of youth soccer players and coaches in the Dayton area", said recently appointed Technical Manager Sid van Druenen.
The Youth Academy will choose teams and players based what is best for their development, and we look to compete in area leagues such as Buckeye Premier Youth Soccer League, Miami Valley Youth Soccer League, Midwest Regional League, and the USL Super Y League. Teams will also participate in tournaments and indoor leagues, chosen according to their level of play and development stage.
As a member of the Dayton Dutch Lions Youth Academy, players can expect training based on the Dutch model, which was developed in collaboration with FC Twente, champions of the Dutch premier league in 2010 and partner of the Dayton Dutch Lions. The training is provided by professional European coaches with UEFA licenses or professional American players. The coaches work with the players and parents to develop individual player developmental plans based on the player's goals and skill level.
