Amarillo, TX 6/1/09 - The Amarillo Dusters have announced today they have signed former standout quarterback Julian Reese.

Reese was a fixture in the Dusters organization in 2004, 2005, and 2008. He led Amarillo to the team's only division title, conference title, and league championship in 2004, when the Dusters played in the IFL (Intense Football League).

"I am thrilled to be back in an Amarillo uniform," said Reese. "I had the football itch earlier this year, and I'm glad I have the Dusters and my family supporting me in my return to Amarillo."

In 2005, Reese threw for 3,525 yards with 65 touchdowns and only 11 interceptions for the season. Reese also rushed for 223 yards, scoring another 28 touchdowns. Reese received numerous "Player of the Week" honors that season, and was also named first team af2 in 2005.

"We're pleased to have Julian back with our club," said Dusters General Manager Joe Morgado. "Julian is an incredible asset to our team. I hope Amarillo fans will be able to come out and support Julian in his return to the field."

Reese attended college at Indiana State University, where he graduated with a degree in Recreational Sports Management. Reese received numerous football awards including All-American Honorable Mention and New Comer of the Year in 2001. Julian was recently working as a middle school teacher at Austin Middle School in Amarillo.

Amarillo (1-8) will play their next game on Saturday, June 6th in the Amarillo Civic Center against the Rio Grande Valley Dorados at 7 PM. For tickets, call 806-350-PASS.
