(OSHAWA, ON) Durham's team the Oshawa Power fought to a 105-97 over the Summerside Storm handing them their first loss of the season. It was a back and forth affair that saw the lead change hands multiple times before the Power were finally able to put the clamps on their third victory of the season.
"I thought tonight we played against a really good team and competed," said Head Coach Larry Blunt following the game. "We held them around 40% from the field and when you do that you have a chance to compete with anyone."
Jushay Rockett had a game high 24 points and 5 rebounds in the win. Amani Daanish recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. William "Bo" Harris also had a double-double game of 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The team's vocal leader Larry Diamond took charge in the second quarter and really changed the tempo of the game finishing with 23 points.
"Larry is really steady. He's a really mature kid the guys look up to him. He's never up never down, he's just a really solid leader and he works his butt off."
Local Durham region stars Papa Oppong and Courtney Small once again had solid performances on the defensive end of the court.
