Dupont Named Sher-Wood Hockey / ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Brodie Dupont of the Norfolk Admirals is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Jan. 2-8.

Dupont scored three goals and added five assists for eight points in three games last week helping the Admirals to a 3-0-0 record.

The 29-year-old had a goal and two assists in a 4-2 win against Adirondack on Wednesday, tallied a pair of assists in a 4-1 victory over Elmira on Friday and picked up two goals and an assist in a 3-0 win against the Jackals on Saturday.

A native of Russell, Manitoba, Dupont has 21 points (7g-14a) in 22 games with the Admirals this season.

Selected by the New York Rangers in the third round (66th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Dupont has posted 168 points (66g-102a) in 364 career American Hockey League games with Hartford and Milwaukee. He has spent the previous three seasons in the DEL where he posted 53 points (18g-35a) in 88 games with Iserlohn.

Prior to turning pro, Dupont had 149 points (81g-68a) in 214 career games with Calgary of the Western Hockey League.

On behalf of Brodie Dupont, a case of pucks will be donated to a Norfolk youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 35,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
