Dumba Back to Light the Lamp

July 16, 2003 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Indianapolis Ice News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, IN-- The Indianapolis Ice announced today that the team has re-signed forward Jared Dumba (dumb-buh) to a contract for next season.

After arriving last season in a late November trade with Oklahoma City, Dumba was the team's goal-scoring specialist as he finished the year as the Ice leader in goals (32), power play goals (12), game-winning goals (7) and multiple goal games (7). After scoring seven points (5G, 2A) to start the year in Oklahoma City, he closed out the regular season by averaging a point a game with Indy with 47 points (27G, 20A) in 47 games. He also added eight points (4G, 4A) in eight Ice playoff contests.

"Jared is a proven 30-40 goal scorer and an exceptional power play guy in this league," said Ice Head Coach Ken McRae. "Pure goal scorers don't come along every day, so he is obviously a quality addition.

Prior to Indianapolis, Dumba was a scoring fixture for Oklahoma City as he averaged just under a point a game in his two-plus years with the Blazers with 122 points (64G, 58A) in just 133 games. He was a member of Oklahoma City's 2001 CHL Championship Team and finished second in the CHL Rookie of the Year voting that season after amassing 75 points (36G, 39A) in 70 games of work.

Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling (317) 925-4423. For all the latest Ice information, please visit www.indianapolisice.com.
