Duluth Huskies Announce a New Hitting Coach
Duluth, Minn - The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club's Field Manager Tyger Pederson shows how he feels about this upcoming season, "I want to repeat last year successful season and make it to the championships." Looking at the 2018 season, the Huskies had with winning the North Division of the Northwoods League, setting a franchise record in wins, setting a new franchise record in stolen bases, making the playoffs for the first time in years, and scoring over 500 runs, a better season than that would be a phenomenal 2019 Huskies Season. Pederson also mentioned it's his goal to continue to develop players and win a championship.
To help him make a winning championship team, the Huskies have signed a new Hitting coach, Stu Pederson. Yes that's right, it will be a father son duo, but this time, the son being the boss. "The addition of my Dad Stu, will be the only father son coaching combo in the league. Anytime you can add a coach who has MLB experience it is a good thing." The addition of the new hitting coach will also give the team a different perspective for hitting and could possibly be the edge the Huskies need to win a Championship.
Along with the new hitting coach, Tyger is also looking forward to a new set of SACH (Scouting Analytics Coaching Hybrid) interns who will be assisting him and his staff with scouting, analytics and coaching. This is the first year the Huskies will have these types of interns. " This is a great chance for me to pass on my knowledge of coaching to young coaches looking to get into baseball as a scout, analytics, coach, or front office management." It's always said that a good coach gives back and that is exactly what Tyger plans on doing.
With all of these new changes, Tyger plans to keep one thing the same and that is his coaching philosophy with developing relationships, trust and instilling confidence in his players. "We play very aggressively and will continue to do so. I am always learning and growing and adapting as a young coach so we will continue to improve our game from a scouting and analytics standpoint."
When asked to explain himself in a word or phrase as a coach Tyger said Confident. "I am confident in my managing abilities, confident in the players I recruit, confident in my coaching staff supporting me and confident that the Huskies are going to have another great season!"
Tyger is also confident that "fans can expect to see a team that is extremely talented, coached well and plays the game the right way every single day. " So this is going to be a season that you don't want to miss. Come on out and watch "The greatest show on Turf"
The Huskies open up their home season on Sunday June 2nd, 2019 against the Eau Claire Express. In just a few short months baseball will be back at the Wade.
