San Angelo T.X. - In a road game against division rival San Angelo, the Gladiators score their first victory of the season. A defensive battle ensued from the get-go of the contest with big hits, sacks and plays.

While the Bandits were unable to score most of the first quarter, San Angelo's Gaudin grabbed a 16-yard pass to take the lead over the Gladiators. Duke City controlled most of the game clock when Barber attempted to kick field goal from 16 yards and missed. At the end of one, it was 7-3 Bandits.

The defensive fight continued in the second as each team had one possession after another. It wasn't until the eighth minute that Duke City's defensive end Roosevelt Falls punched in a two yard touchdown run. A missed PAT resulted in a 9-7 Gladiator lead. Almost eight minutes ran by when the San Angelo Bandits were driving and pushing into the red zone. A missed sweep toss at 30 seconds left, lead to a fumble recovery by defensive back Jayson Serda and a touchdown return of 30-yards. Gladiators go up 16-7 at halftime.

The steam continued to pump for Duke City as three minutes into the game, wide receiver Dello Davis climbs the ladder and grabs a 14 yard touchdown pass and further the lead to 23-7. San Angelo answered quickly as they drove downfield to set them up for a 5 yard touchdown run by Austin Bray making it 23-14. With five minutes of possession time, quarterback Bryan Randall lead the charge downfield and punches in a big touchdown on a 2 yard run. It's 30-14 to end the third quarter.

As the fourth quarter gets underway, San Angelo strikes in six seconds with a 23 yard touchdown pass to Stephen Alfred. The Gladiators answer back in just 17 seconds with a 35 yard pass to wide receiver Sedrick Johnson and Duke City goes up 37-21. The defense just doesn't stop there when Jayson Serda makes a big interception to bring the possession back to the Gladiators. Emannuel McPhearson puts the icing on the cake by grabbing a 16 yard touchdown reception. With time running out, San Angelo makes a lengthy attempt to score when success arises as time expires. A two-point conversion ensues and the final score is set at 44-29. The Duke City Gladiators run with their first victory of the season and an exciting one at that.
