Ducks fall to Griffins in shootout

ANAHEIM, Ca. -- Tomas Kopecky scored the deciding goal in the shootout to lift the Grand Rapids Griffins to a 4-3 victory over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Wednesday in front of 8,842 fans at the Arrowhead Pond.

Niklas Kronwall scored two goals and Nathan Robinson had a goal and an assist for the Griffins, who have won six of their last seven games.

Joey MacDonald stopped 30 shots in the win for Grand Rapids, which remained perfect away from home (5-0-0-0). MacDonald, who turned aside all four of the Ducks attempt in the shootout, improved his record to 10-4-0 on the season.

Michael Holmqvist, Stanislav Chistov and Alexei Smirnov scored for Cincinnati, which has lost two straight games and nine of its last 10.

Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 16 shots in the loss.

The Ducks play Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Cleveland.
