Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks News Release


The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks will be back at home for a week-long homestand from Thursday, August 7 – Wednesday, August 13. Here a few of the promotions that will be going on:

August 8 – "Pack Your Bags Nite" One lucky fan will win a trip for two (2) to an undisclosed location. You won't want to miss this opportunity to win a vacation!

August 9 – "Mini-Bat Nite" Kids 14 and under will receive a free mini-bat when they come to the game.

August 10 – Merchants Nite #3

August 22 – "Kids Appreciation Nite-Autograph Team Ball" Kids 14 and under will receive a free autographed team ball. Kids 15 and under will receive $2 admission with prizes all night long.

August 23 – "Fan Appreciation Nite, Team Poster Giveaway and Fireworks!" All jersey's raffled off for $1 donation to MDA. Prizes will be given away all night long. This is the last game of the season, be sure to be at Price Cutter Park to support the Ducks and wish them a farewell.

Where The Ducks Are Now

The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks are playing in Shreveport for a three game series before returning home. The Ducks stand in the fifth position for the Eastern Division with a record of 10-20. Shreveport is fourth with 10-19. The Fort Worth Cats lead the East with 19-11.

The Ducks lost the first game of the three game series with a score of 6-8 Shreveport. The teams were tied 5-5 at the end of the third inning, but the Sports gained three runs to the Ducks one run in the last three and a half innings. Ducks' Pat O'Sullivan scored two runs while Roger Cook hit in three RBIs.

The Ducks have traded RHP Joe Goodman to Edinburg, have released Bobby Koba, Rick Wilson, Ross Cowling and Bryan King.

Newcomer Dominic Woody, catcher, hit his first home run with the Ducks on Sunday night to win the second game of a double-header in the 10th inning with a score of 6-5. Congratulations Woody and welcome to the team!
