Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

After spending almost, a full month and a half at home to start the season, the Dubuque Fighting Saints will hit the road for just the second time as they make the trek north to take on the Green Bay Gamblers. Despite a couple strong efforts last weekend against the Muskegon Lumberjacks, Dubuque went without a win in the three-game series. They will look to right the ship in their first game of the year against Green Bay.

-Though last weekend didn't produce results in the win column for Dubuque, they did see some strong individual performances. Riley Stuart continues to produce in his second season, scoring twice on the weekend. Reggie Millette also scored twice and so did Stephen Halliday as the returning crop of Saints began to heat up.

-The Gamblers went 1-1 last weekend and they currently sit third in the East. Green Bay has established that they can play a good defensive brand of hockey, but their offense has been mediocre, scoring just 29 times in eight games.

-One of the league's premier defenseman wears a Gamblers jersey this season. Mason Lohrei, a draft pick of the Boston Bruins, has showed early on why he was selected in the third round of this year's NHL Draft. Lohrei is second in defensive scoring and his four game winning goals lead the league among all skaters.

-Dubuque's power play took a big step forward last weekend as they registered a man advantage goal in two of the three games last weekend. Dubuque improved the power play four percentage points last weekend.

-The road will be an unfamiliar place for Dubuque as they play their second road game of the season Tuesday. Dubuque has played the lowest amount of road games this season.

-Offense was an issue for the Saints heading into the month of December, however they seem to have remedied that side of the puck. Dubuque has scored at least four goals in three of their last four games. The issue for the Saints lie in the fact that they have allowed five or more goals in all but one of those games.

-Green Bay is penalty prone this year, leading the Eastern Conference in penalty minutes with 160 through their first eight games.

-Dubuque heads east after their single game in Green Bay as they battle with Team USA on Friday and Saturday. Both games will start at 4:05 ET/3:05 CT
