Drive and Braves Suspended on Thursday Night
July 12, 2018 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Greenville Drive News Release
Greenville, SC - Due to inclement weather, Thursday's game at Fluor Field between the Greenville Drive and Rome Braves has been suspended in the bottom of the second inning with the score 0-0.
The game will be resumed on Friday at 4:00 PM, and will be scheduled for nine innings in length. Friday's regularly scheduled game will begin no earlier than 7:00 PM, and that game will now be scheduled for seven innings.
Because Thursday's game was not an official game, fans with tickets for Thursday can exchange them at the Fluor Field box office for tickets to any remaining regular season game in 2018, subject to availability.
When the game resumes on Friday afternoon, Drive left-hander Angel Padron (1-3, 4.47) will take the mound against Braves right-hander Alan Rangel (2-5, 5.55). In the nightcap, Drive left-hander Enmanuel De Jesus (2-2, 4.35) will face off against Braves left-hander John Curtis (0-0, 0.00).
The Drive will still be suiting up as the Greenville EnergÃa during the nightcap as part of the "Copa de la Diversión" initiative, and the Hubbell Lighting "Light it Up" Friday Night Fireworks will be shot off following the conclusion of the night game.
