
Crawdads Bats Bash Power for 9-3 Victory

Hickory, NC - The Crawdads offense erupted for nine runs en route to a 9-3 victory over the West Virginia Power on Wednesday night.
The 'Dads bats struck first, scoring a run in the bottom of the first. Bubba Thompson started off the inning with a single to center. He got himself into scoring position with his 13thsteal of the season. Aparicio singled and Thompson dashed home to give the 'Dads a 1-0 lead.
The Power struck back with two runs in the second and a run in the third to take a 3-1 lead over the 'Dads.
In the bottom of the fourth the 'Dads retook the lead in the fourth, scoring four runs. Aparicio got the rally going with a single to short. Preston Scott and Pedro Gonzalez followed up with singles of their own to load the bases. Sam Huff brought in Aparicio with a base hit to center. Tyreque Reed tied the game with the 'Dads fifth consecutive single. They got the lead as Justin Jacobs grounded into a double play that allowed Gonzalez to score. Yonny Hernandez gave the 'Dads an insurance run with a double that scored Huff.
The 'Dads took a 6-3 lead as Reed doubled and Jacobs singled him home.
The Crawdads broke the game open in the eighth with three more runs. Reed singled and Hernandez walked to put two runners on. Bubba Thompson hit a homerun to center that made the score 9-3.
The 'Dads and Power are back in action tomorrow night at 7pm for Thirsty Thursday and Sandlot Night. Fans can dress up as their favorite Sandlot character for a free ticket. The game will start at 7pm and gates will open at 6pm.
