Drillers to Host Midland & Frisco at ONEOK Field

August 15, 2011 - Texas League (TL1)
Tulsa Drillers News Release

The next-to-last homestand of the 2011 regular season for the Tulsa Drillers will include a pair of three-game series with the Midland RockHounds (Oakland A's) and the Frisco RoughRiders (Texas Rangers). The homestand will begin on Wednesday, August 17 and run six consecutive days through Monday, August 22.

The RockHounds will visit ONEOK Field for the first three games, followed by the three-game set with the RoughRiders. All games in the homestand are scheduled to begin at 7:05PM.

The promotions during the homestand will include Thirsty Thursday/Salute To The King Night on August 18, Friday Night Fireworks on August 19, Grand Slam Saturday/Troy Tulowitzki Bobbleheads on August 20 and Family FunDay Sunday/Mascot Mania on August 21.

A complete list of promotions with descriptions is below.

Tickets for all of the games are now on sale at the ONEOK Field Ticket Office at 201 N. Elgin Ave. and at TulsaDrillers.com. Tickets are also available by calling the Ticket Office at (918)744-5901.

Finishing It Up: The six games with Midland and Frisco will mark Tulsa's final regular season meetings with teams from the South Division of the Texas League. The Drillers will conclude the regular season with 14 games against the other three teams from the North Division.

Last Time: It is the second trip to ONEOK Field this season for both Midland and Frisco. The Drillers won two of the three previous meetings with the RockHounds in Tulsa, while the RoughRiders swept a three-game series.

Hot Month: Adam Jorgenson has pitched well during the first couple weeks of August, allowing only two runs in four appearances this month. Jorgenson has recorded a 2.00 ERA while holding league hitters to a .194 batting average in August

Chasing Bubba & Buckley: Tim Wheeler will hope to move closer to Bubba Smith and Kevin Buckley during the homestand in his pursuit of the Drillers single season home run record. Smith (1996) and Buckley (1983) share the record with 32 home runs.
