Drazenovic Recalled By Blue Jackets

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced on Sunday that center Nick Drazenovic has been recalled on an emergency basis by their NHL affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Drazenovic is second on the Falcons with 49 points (17g-32a) in 54 games and heads to Columbus for the fourth time this season. He leads the AHL with 27 power-play points (9g-18a). With the Blue Jackets this season, Drazenovic is scoreless in seven contests.

A native of Prince George, British Columbia, Drazenovic skated with the Peoria Rivermen, St. Louis' primary developmental affiliate, during the first-four seasons of his career from 2007 to 2011. In 378 AHL games between Springfield and Peoria, Drazenovic has 100 goals and 150 assists for 250 points. He has not posted a point in 10-career NHL contests with Columbus and St. Louis. Drazenovic, 26, was selected by the Blues in the sixth round (171st overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The Falcons moved into a four-way tie for first place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 2-1 win over Connecticut on Saturday night. Springfield can clinch a spot in the 2013 Calder Cup Playoffs on Tuesday night with a home win over Albany and a loss by Norfolk to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
