Dragons Defense Ties AFL INT Record

(Uniondale, NY – February 27, 2005) Under the direction of rookie head coach Weylan Harding, the New York Dragons tied an AFL single-game record with six interceptions in their 61-37 victory over the Arizona Rattlers. Dragons WR/DB Corey Johnson hauled in a pair in the second quarter while DS Chris Angel, WR/LB Mike Horacek, DS Billy Parker and FB/LB Josh White all added one a piece.

"I'm thrilled with the effort and the win today," said Harding. "I'm really proud of my guys staying in there all the way to the end."

Johnson was named the ADT Defensive Player of the Game while Horacek was given the US Army Iornman of the Game honors. Johnson finished the game with four tackles, all solo. Horacek returned his fourth quarter interception for a touchdown, which sealed the victory for the Dragons. Offensively, he recorded five receptions for 50 yards and two receiving scores. Angel and Parker each registered a game-leading 7.0 tackles to go along with their interceptions. Angel also recorded three pass deflections, which was one more then Arizona recorded as a team.
