Draft day is here for the Storm

The Chicago Storm of the MISL will begin to take shape today as Head Coach and General Manager Frank Klopas will select 16 players in the Chicago Expansion Draft at 2:00 p.m. CT. Fans and members of the media can listen to the draft via www.ChicagoStorm.net.

The draft consists of 16 rounds of selections with the Storm able to select up to three players from each MISL team. The Storm will come away with 16 player, including a maximum of two goalkeepers. Each MISL team has submitted a list of protected and unprotected players for the draft. Teams were able to hold on to 11 players, including up to one goalkeeper. The remaining players have been made available to the "Yellow and Black" for the draft.

After the Storm selects a player from an existing roster, that team will be able to protect a player from its unprotected list. The Storm can draft up to three players per team.

The Chicago Storm of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) will be accepting season ticket deposits beginning Tuesday, June 15 at 9:00 a.m. CT. Fans can reserve season tickets by calling (312) 226-GOAL (4625). The Storm enters its inaugural season starting this October with home games slated for The Pavilion, located at 1150 West Harrison Avenue in Chicago. The MISL will announce the 2004-05 season schedule late next month.

Formed on June 3, 2004, the Chicago Storm becomes the 10th team in the MISL, joining the two-time defending champion Baltimore Blast, Cleveland Force, Dallas Sidekicks, Kansas City Comets, Milwaukee Wave, Monterrey Fury (Mexico), Philadelphia Kixx, St. Louis Steamers and San Diego Sockers. Storm home games will be played at The Pavilion in Chicago. The Storm front office is located at 411 South Sangamon, Suite B in Chicago.
