Great Lakes Loons News Release

From Saginaw's Stevie Wonder to Bay City's Madonna, the Great Lakes Bay Region has produced some of the most famous names in the entertainment industry. No doubt, there is a plethora of talented individuals residing within the area.

The Great Lakes Loons are hoping to uncover some of the most talented individuals in the region on February 14 at Dow Diamond in the first edition of "Mid-Michigan's Got Talent." Top qualifiers in the event will be invited to showcase their skills during a Loons' home game during the 2009 season.

The Loons are seeking entertainers to perform the national anthem before home games, plus talented jugglers, magicians, caricature artists, one-man bands, and people with any other skill that could be considered entertaining.

For the event, the Loons have partnered with Citadel Broadcasting and its four Great Lakes Bay Region radio stations - 96 WHNN, 102.5 WIOG, Wheelz 104.5 and Z93. Loons Assistant General Manager Chris Mundhenk, Promotions Manager Linda Uliano, Director of Communications Brad Golder and Director of Production Chris Lones will serve as judges for the talent show.

"As we always say during Loons home games, 'Leave your nerves at home,'" Uliano said. "In our first two seasons, we have had tremendously talented stadium entertainers and national anthem performers, and our event of February 14 is only going to produce even more quality entertainment options for our fans."

National anthem singers must perform a capella. Because of space and time constraints, bands are asked to mail or drop off a demo tape, CD or DVD to Linda Uliano, c/o Dow Diamond, 825 E. Main St., Midland, MI 48640. Interested entertainers who are unable to participate in "Mid-Michigan's Got Talent" may also send in a demo in lieu of attending the February 14 event.

The event will be held Valentine's Day from 9am-3pm. All interested participants must pre-register with Linda Uliano at luliano@loons.com or 989-837-6140.

The Great Lakes Loons are the third-year Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers and members of the Midwest League. For more information about the Loons, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
