Texas Tornado Goaltender #33 Troy Redmann Named NAHL Player of the Week
Two of the league's top goaltenders, Texas Tornado's #33 Troy Redmann and Bozeman Icedogs' Matt Dalton share the honor of being named Sher-wood NAHL Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending November 27. Redmann is right behind Dalton in goals-against (2.04) and he also leads all NAHL goaltenders with 22 games played and is tied for third in save percentage (.927). This week, in three games, the Brea, California native allowed only one goal in each outing, including a 1-0 loss in overtime to Texarkana. He was named the second star of the game on November 23 against Wichita Falls in a 4-1 victory and first star of the game two nights later against Texarkana in another 4-1 win. In the three games, Redmann stopped 84 of 87 shots. One of the great brand names in hockey equipment, Sher-wood is the exclusive Official Equipment Supplier of the North American Hockey League. Sher-wood sticks, gloves and pants are provided to NAHL clubs by the company, which also sponsors the NAHL Players of the Week awards. Each week, NAHL coaches nominate offensive and defensive players for these awards and winners are selected for their outstanding play and recognized on NAHL.com.
