Dos a Cero in Their Words: Clint Dempsey
Published on September 4, 2013 under Major League Soccer (MLS)
Columbus Crew SC News Release
A member of the team that took down Mexico 2-0 in Columbus in 2009, Seattle Sounders FC forward Clint Dempsey shared with TheCrew.com the qualities that make Crew Stadium special for the United States during his team's visit in August.
"In the past, it's been more of a pro-American crowd [at Crew Stadium]. I remember when I first started with the National Team going to some venues and not feeling like I was at home at all. It felt like we were playing an away game in our own country. That's something that Crew Stadium has always been for us, it's a place where you feel at home. The fans are behind you and they're being the twelfth man. It's been great for us. We've been on a good run of form here and hopefully that's something we can continue in the future."
