Dorados welcome back veteran ironman Mel Long

Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Dorados of arenafootball2 today announced that Mel Long has been assigned to the team for the 2007 season.
"Mel brings veteran leadership and knowledge to our offense and defense," said Dorados Head Coach Marty Hammond. "With the free substitutions this season, we'll see a lot more of him on the field."
Long, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound WR/LB, was second on the team last season with 18 TD's and 906 receiving yards. Defensively, he led the club with four interceptions, including a season and franchise-high 49-yard return for TD July 1 at Bossier-Shreveport. He was also second on the team with seven pass breakups.
The fifth-year pro played four seasons of collegiate ball at Toledo, and graduated as the Rockets' all-time record holder for receptions (175), TD receptions (21) and receiving yards (2,188).
The Dorados kick off 2007 on the road a Corpus Christi on April 7, and open up the home half of the season vs. Laredo on April 14. Games at Obra Homes Field inside Dodge Arena begin at 7:30 p.m.
