THE E-WATCH

Former Dorados defensive specialist Eddie Moten is the first and only player to advance his playing career from the Dorados to the higher level and is currently the youngest member of the Arena Football League ‘s (AFL) Philadelphia Soul. Moten, who was a rookie last season for the Dorados out of Texas A&M-Kingsville, co-led the af2 last season in interceptions with 10 and led the af2 in interception return yards with 124 yards. Each week we will keep tabs on his progress in AFL action:

Sun March. 6th vs New York Dragons

The Philadelphia Soul, who played their first game since firing head coach Michael Trigg (fired on February 28th after suffering a 72-43 loss at home to the AFL Eastern Division leading Dallas Desperados for their worse loss in franchise history), were defeated 61-54 by the New York Dragons. Moten did not participate in the game after being placed on the injured reserve list on Friday. His totals will remain at 18 tackles (15-solo, 4-assisted) on the year (ranks tied for 40th in the league) and his team leading 9 pass break-ups (passes defended) ranks tied for second in the AFL, leaving him two back from leader Rashad Floyd of Colorado.

Next for Moten: The Soul (2-4) will remain without Moten this Friday, as they head to California to play the San Jose Sabercats (2-3) in a 9:30-PM scheduled kickoff. (Fox Sports Bay Area will televise the game on a tape delay basis on Sunday at 4:30 PM).
