Rio Grande Valley Dorados News Release
Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Dorados today were assigned OL/DL Dominique Steamer. Steamer played three seasons (2002-04) of varsity football for the Texas A&M Aggies.
Steamer, a 6-foot-4, 321-pound native of Temple, Texas, was a 2004 1st Team Academic All Big-12 recipient. As a junior in 2004, he saw action in all 12 games and started at quick guard in the season-opener against Utah.
In a solid sophomore campaign, Steamer played in nine games as a backup offensive lineman and earned his first varsity letter. While at Temple High School, Steamer was rated the No. 4 offensive guard in Texas by LoneStarRecruiting.com.
The 23-year-old will battle for a starting job with the Dorados when they open training camp in March.
The Dorados kick off 2007 on the road at Corpus Christi on April 7, and open up the home half of the season vs. Laredo on April 14. Games at Obra Homes Field inside Dodge Arena begin at 7:30 p.m.
Dorados season tickets are available now by calling 956-843-7825 or visit doradosfootball.com.
