Wichita, KS (February 27th) - Wichita has welcomed many recognizable characters to INTRUST Bank Arena this season. On Friday, March 22nd, Dora the Explorer will head on another magical journey to entertain the little ones while the Thunder host the Allen Americans.
The Nickelodeon icon began on TV in 2000. Dora, accompanied by her talking purple backpack and monkey companion named Boots, embarks on an educational quest each episode. Matt Brokaw, Assistant GM of the Wichita Thunder, is excited to be able to provide this type of entertainment for Thunder fans.
"She is one of the most well-known cartoon characters on television. We strive to make each game presentation exciting and unique. We want our fans to walk away with an experience and bringing Dora to the game will be add another piece of entertainment for this season."
March 22nd is also Youth Jersey Give-A-Way Night, which is presented by Fugate Enterprises (Pizza Hut and Taco Bell) and the final reading program night of the year. The first 1,000 kids through the doors will receive a special Wichita Thunder youth jersey. This is the last chance of the season for your young ones to cash in on a school year of reading for a free ticket voucher. For more information, please give Becky a call at the Thunder office.
Wichita will have a few days off before heading back to Allen on Friday night. Wichita's next home game is Saturday, March 2nd against the Bloomington Blaze, which is also College Fair Night.
