USL League One named Forward Madison's Don Smart its Player of the Week on Tuesday, honoring the Jamaican for his standout performance against South Georgia Tormenta FC.
Smart recorded a goal and two assists to send Madison to victory against South Georgia, a win the club will hope kick-starts its campaign to reach the USL League One Final. Smart played a role in the final three goals of the Flamingos' 4-0 rout, which stands as the highest scoring output by a side in the League One season so far.
Smart also made League One's Team of the Week, joined by teammates Paulo Júnior and Josiah Trimmingham.
The Brazilian Paulo had one goal, one assist and won 10 of 13 duels while completing 3 of 4 dribbles in a strong all-around display.
Center back Trimmingham made three interceptions, three clearances and completed 42 of 54 passes while helping the Flamingos earn their second clean sheet of the year.
Forward Madison will play its next game on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at second-place Union Omaha.
