Fayetteville SwampDogs News Release
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Fayetteville SwampDogs defeated the Peninsula Pilots 6-4 Friday night in a rain and lightning-shorted five inning contest at J.P. Riddle Stadium.
The SwampDogs offense was clicking on all cylinders, as they led 2-0 in the bottom of the first before Pilots starting pitcher Culver lamb even recorded an out. A single by Mitch Roman (Jr./Wright State) and a double from Jimmy Faul (Jr./Louisville) set the Dogs up well for a two-run single from Branden Boggetto (Jr./Southeast Missouri).
Faul would finish 3-3 with two doubles and an RBI, while Boggetto would collect his third RBI in the fourth inning.
Submarine pitcher Sam Caldwell (Fr./Florence Darlington Tech) went the first three innings before giving way to Kodi Whitley (Soph./Mount Olive) who pitched the final two innings, earning the win to improve to 4-1 on the season.
The SwampDogs (11-13) are back home tomorrow against the Lexington County Blowfish for Zach Brown Night starting at 7:05 pm. Reserve your tickets now!
