
'Dogs sign two players

Richmond RiverDogs News Release
Richmond, VA â The Richmond RiverDogs of the United Hockey League have signed C Jonathan Gagnon and G Jeff Sanger to contracts for the 2004/05 season. Gagnon, a former Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick, spent part of last season in the AHL. Sanger also played briefly in the AHL last year.
Gagnon is expected to center the âDogs top line between fellow Quebec natives Daivd Brosseau and Francis Belanger. Gagnon scored 22 goals in 35 games with Memphis in the CHL last season. He had 20 points in 14 playoff games while helping lead Memphis to the 2003 CHL title. He finished his major junior career with 16 points in 14 playoff games for Drummondville of the QMJHL.
Sanger had a .911 save percentage in 40 games with Indianapolis of the CHL last season. He also played in one game with Norfolk of the AHL. A four year starter at Colorado College, Sanger had a 20-12 record as a pro rookie in 2002/03 with Reading.
The âDogs now have 10 players under contract for 2004-'05: Brian Goudie, Paul Johnson, J.F. Picard, J.J. Wrobel, Luch Nasato, Jami Yoder, David Brosseau, Francis Belanger, Gagnon, and Sanger.
