Kansas City Outlaws News Release

The new Kansas City UHL expansion franchise has analyzed 7092 entries from the Kansas City Star's "Name the Team Contest" and narrowed the search to three names: EXPRESS, OUTLAWS, and TWISTERS. The final team name will be officially announced on Wednesday, July 28 at 6 p.m. at The Granfallon on the Plaza (608 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO). The general public is invited to attend the announcement at no charge.

Wednesday's announcement will include the fans who entered Express, Outlaws, and Twisters through the "Name the Team Contest" from Friday, July 9 to Sunday, July 18 at www.kansascity.com and mail-in letters. Of the hockey fans that picked the chosen name, one winner will be decided at the announcement and win season tickets for life to all home games.

The team's management along with Global Spectrum, the facility management company for Kemper Arena and the American Royal Center, sorted through the names and narrowed the search to three based on creativity, marketability, and fan-appeal.

The soon-to-be-named hockey franchise will play their home opener against the Missouri River Otters on Friday, October 15 at Kemper Arena.
