
Dogs Share Fun Night with Methodist Alumni

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - In a special matchup Saturday night, the Fayetteville SwampDogs and the Methodist University Alumni team squared off against one another in a night filled with laughs, nostalgia and offense. On the field, the SwampDogs defeated the Monarchs Alumni 18-6.
The SwampDogs bats erupted to put up a bunch of crooked numbers - four runs in the second inning, six runs in the third inning, and seven runs in the fifth inning en route to victory.
Blake Brunneman (Soph./North Lake) got the start for the SwampDogs and got the win going five innings.
The SwampDogs are back in action tomorrow night, as they head to Hampton, Va. to take on the Peninsula Pilots at 7:05 pm. The next SwampDogs home game will be Tuesday, June 9th on Hope Mills Night when the 'Dogs host the Petersburg Generals. Reserve your tickets now by calling 910-426-5900.
The Fayetteville SwampDogs are in their 15th season playing in the Coastal Plain League. The SwampDogs are one of the most successful franchises in the league's history, making the Petitt Cup Playoffs eight times in the past 10 seasons, reaching the championship round three times. The SwampDogs boast 84 alumni taken in the draft and have produced six players who have gone on to play in Major League Baseball.
