December 13, 2005 - Florida State League (FSL1)
Vero Beach Devil Rays News Release
VERO BEACH, FL- The Los Angeles Dodgers today announced their spring training schedule for the 2006 season, according to Vice President of Spring Training/Minor League Facilities Craig Callan. The Dodgers have been a part of the Grapefruit League since 1948 when the team moved their spring training to Vero Beach. The Dodgers have scheduled fifteen games at Holman Stadium this year, with the first game on March 2nd versus the National League East Champion Atlanta Braves. In addition to the Braves, the schedule contains the Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, and the St. Louis Cardinals - all playoff teams a year ago. This year's calendar also includes two Friday night games, making a trip to the ballpark accessible for all families. The annual St. Patrick's Day celebration will be held on one of these night games at 7pm, Friday, March 17th against the New York Mets, featuring green bases and other special promotions.
This season the Dodgers are introducing a variety of ticket plans that can suit the needs of any fan. Brand new to this year's spring training are two three-game mini plans, featuring the top teams in Major League Baseball. The Triple Play plan includes games versus the Red Sox (March 9), the Florida Marlins (March 16), and the Detroit Tigers (March 28). The Think Blue plan contains games versus the Baltimore Orioles (March 8), the Cardinals (March 23), and the Washington Nationals (March 29). These plans cost $48 each and will be on sale December 16th.
For our most loyal fans, the Dodgers are offering the Spring & Summer Super Combo Ticket, which consists of tickets to all home games for both the Los Angeles and Vero Beach squads for the low price of $325. Traditional season tickets to spring training, which include all 15 games, are $225. Both season ticket packages will go on sale Friday, December 16th and will also include the opportunity to purchase a parking pass, as well as other benefits. Current season ticket holders should expect their renewal letter in the mail shortly.
Individual game tickets will be on sale Saturday, January 21st at 10:00 a.m. Weekday games are $16 with weekend and night games costing $18, each per ticket. Families have the opportunity to purchase tickets to watch games from the grass berm located just beyond the outfield fence. Berm tickets are available for all weekend and night games. Berm tickets are $8 per person and will also be sold for any game that has standing room only.
Holman Stadium is a fan friendly atmosphere and the Dodgers are looking forward to another great year in Vero Beach. The Spring Training schedule is filled with special events and promotions that will be exciting for fans of all ages. Giveaways will include bobbleheads, rally towels, and Sandy Koufax action statues. In addition, the Dodgers will feature some of the games biggest superstars, including all-star second baseman Jeff Kent and newly acquired shortstop Rafael Furcal.
