Spokane Shock News Release
March 25, 2009 - Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that DL Jonal Saint-Dic has been added to their 2009 roster. In another roster move, the Spokane Shock released WR Jason Rivers.
Saint-Dic, 6-2 255, signed a free-agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008 after finishing his collegiate career at Michigan State University in 2007.
As a Spartan, Saint-Dic played in 24 games and tallied 71 tackles - including 13 sacks. His senior season, Saint-Dic led the nation with eight forced fumbles (a Big-10 record) and tied for 16th in the nation with 10 sacks.
In addition to being named 1st Team All Big-10, Saint Dic was also named a 2nd Team All-American as a senior.
"We wanted to solidify our pass rush and we just didn't feel like we could pass on a guy like this," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "On film, we saw a great first step and motor that didn't stop. With his size, he can learn the linebacker position as well which would make him more marketable at the next level."
The Shock will open the 2009 season at the Spokane Arena on Spokane Tribe Field on April 3rd. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 509 242 7462. Single game tickets are also on sale now and can be purchased through TicketsWest.
