Wachusett Dirt Dawgs News Release
LEOMINSTER, Mass (June 17, 2014). The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs and North Shore Navigators set multiple records including most runs and most home runs in a game, with a final score of 18-16. The two teams combined for 34 runs and 10 home runs.
The Navigators scored five runs in the top of the ninth to take the lead against the Dirt Dawgs. It started with Skyler Geissinger (Southern Illinois University-Edwardville) hitting a home run and the Navigators would continue to score from there. The other Navigator home runs included Stanley Susana (St. Thomas Aquinas College) who hit two, Kyle Hood (Franklin Pierce), Sheldon Brogden(Lee University) and Alex Burridge (SE Missouri State).
The Dirt Dawgs had four home runs of their own led by Mike Corin (Rhode Island) who had two. Joe Breen (Southern Connecticut) and Mattingly Romanin (Chicago State) each added one home run for the Dirt Dawgs. Corin and Breen each had five RBIs on the night.
The Dirt Dawgs will travel to Worcester on June 18th to take on the Bravehearts. Kevin O'Connor (Assumption College) will take the mound for the Dirt Dawgs. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
