Tri-City Diesel News Release
Kearney, Nebraska-The Tri-City Diesel is proud to announce the invitation of four more athletes into 2004 camp. Included in the four invitations is 3-time All-NISC offensive lineman for the Golden Bears, Chad Benhke. Benhke, a 6'5" 295 pound OL from Concordia St. Paul (MN) and will be competing for a spot on the offensive line.
JR Kelemeni, 6'2" 265 pound FB/LB will join the Diesel after being in camp with the Arena Football League's Arizona Rattlers. This former University of Northern Colorado athlete was a key member for the 2002 UNC squad that won the NCC conference title, finished the season 12-2, and made it all the way to the NCAA Division II Play-off National Semi-Finals.
Ron Brown, 6'3" 265 pound DL joins the Diesel after spending his rookie season with the Ft. Wayne Freedom. Ron started seven games for the Freedom and played in 11 of their 14 games. In college, Ron was an All-Pioneer Conference Offensive lineman at Division I-AA Valparaiso University, IN. Ron was chosen to play in the National All-Star game in Louisville, KY.
Torry Nelson, 6'2" 195 pound DB comes to the Diesel squad from Division II Henderson State where he was a standout corner and two time Gulf South Conference Player of the Week. Torry comes to Kearney after a workout with the NFL Europe's Frankfort Galaxy.
There is still more to come about these exciting players for the Tri-City Diesel. The players are preparing for their first game, which is against Enid, OK in Oklahoma. The Diesel will host their first home game against Wyoming Calvary on March 26th at 7:30 pm.
