Diamaduros Finishes as CPL Career Hits and RBI Leader

Published on August 4, 2011 under Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain) News Release

Earlier this season, Forest City ‚¬â„¢s Konstantine Diamaduros (Wofford / photo courtesy of Pat Grecinger) won the race to 159 career regular season hits, breaking former Owl Will Skinner ‚¬â„¢s (2008-10) record of 158. But Diamaduros found himself in a hits race with Fayetteville ‚¬â„¢s Eric Grabe (Tampa) down the stretch to see who would finish with the most career regular season hits at the end of 2011.

With the regular season ending on Tuesday, the Coastal Plain League acknowledged Diamaduros as the record holder with 174 career hits from 2009-11. Grabe was right behind him at 172 career hits from the same time span.

For Diamaduros, it capped a regular season career that saw his name atop the career hits total but also in RBIs with 104 - nine more than the previous record of 95 set by Barrett Kleinknecht (Florence 2007-09). Furthermore, he finishes second all-time in career doubles (37), triples (8) and total bases (251); as well as third in runs scored with 90.
